When
considering the creation of an environment for my character archetypes my
automatic thought was of an enchanted forest full of various mythical creatures.
However, in order to avoid this cliché I felt it would make more sense to draw
for the characters and where they would natural fit.
Due to
the hunter archetype I felt that remaining in a forest environment would make
sense, however when I began to consider the archetype of mother nature I felt
that this could be expanded upon.
Mother
nature has been abandoned and abused with only a hint of her beauty remaining.
I felt the environment surrounding her should reflect this. She begrudges man
for destroying her once beautiful nature and therefore takes over, her anger
influencing the area around her.
An interesting
yet relevant way to portray her anger was through a stormy sky. This not
only represents a sense of danger; but awe and a certain beauty within the
storm. More specifically I have decided to look at volcanic lightening as this
creates some beautiful skyscapes.
