In order to improve on the lighting and depth within my environment I created a value painting. This enabled me to focus on these areas without becoming distracted or confused by colour within the scene.
Although
this is a relatively sketchy piece I feel it has achieved its purpose. There is
a far better sense of the light source and how this will reflect around the
scene. It was also beneficial for creating a sense of depth within the
environment.
