Meeting Minutes #2

,
Today I had my second meeting with Lynn to further discuss my project and how it has been developing. I had eliminated the idea of 3D work as I feared this would make my area too unfocused. However I am now aware how I can still work with both 2D and 3D in my current area of interest.

From the meeting my next steps are as follows:
  • Research visual styles from different sources (still image/ moving image/ interactive) and pick 3 distinct styles from each.
  • Make a list of what I feel are the key elements of each style and what defines each.
  • Take one on my own characters and adapt it so that it fits each of my chosen styles.
  • Make notes on my findings.
    • Has the appeal changed?
    • Am I technically able to recreate the styles?
    • Any other findings I haven't previously thought of.
  •  Create a mind map of 'Appeal' including relevant literature from the research I have undertaken.
Previous Tasks
3.  Read: Get 'The Art of' books for 3D animation films to look at character designs.
4.  Write: Make notes of any trends in the visual style.
5.  Read/Make: Research different visual styles for 2D and 3D, pick one of each and design quick concept sketches for each.
