Here is the final result of my painting combining specified elements of both 'Jake and the Neverland Pirates' and 'Adventure Time'.
Reflection and Self Critique
Core components of new visual style:
Line - Bold lines, darker shade of the contained object or area.
Colour - Bright, bold colours. Cool colours used throughout.
Shape - Simple shapes with detail added through texture for interest.
Texture - Added through varying pattern on larger objects.
Space -Depth added through layering of objects and the use of visual texture.
- I feel that the texture here works well with the shape and line.
- One area that I feel doesn't work very well in this combination of visual styles is the smooth shape and line of the mountain against the texture.
- The pattern used to the background mountains worked better than I had expected, added just enough detail without becoming over complicated.
- One area in which these visual styles do combine well together is then the line work is smaller and contains slightly more detail, while the texture goes through it to add depth.
