Final Result: 'Jake and The Neverland Pirates' Interpretation

,
And here is the final result of my 'Jake and the Neverland Pirates' interpretation.

Reflection and Self Critique

Core components of visual style (original artwork):

Line -No distinct definition on outline of each object.
Colour - Bright, bold colours. Cool colours used throughout.
Shape - Small, relatively detailed shapes.
Texture - Added through varying pattern on larger objects.
Space -Depth added through layering of objects and the use of visual texture.

  1. Tree texture fits in well and adds relevant texture and space to the piece.
  2. Palm tree is accurate to visual style.
  3. Adding plants to this area would have added beneficial detail and colour variety.
  4. More colours like this used throughout would have helped
  5. This area is too dark for the colour palette of the original visual style.
Overall, I feel the colour palette that I have used is slightly too muted for this visual style. However the shape and texture remain accurate. This piece could have been improved with the addition of more detail and bursts of colour added throughout but the visual style is generally accurate.
