Final Result: 'Adventure Time' Interpretation

,
The final result of my Adventure Time interpretation.

Reflection and Self Critique

Core components of visual style (original artwork):

Line - Bold lines, darker shade of the contained object or area.
Colour - Bright, block colours.
Shape - Simple shapes with detail added through texture for interest.
Texture - Smooth.
Space - Distinct layers added to create the illusion of depth.

  1. Small details of village add elements of interest to the image, similarly to original artwork.
  2. Rainbow adds nice variety in colour, however the texture does not fit the visual style.
  3. More tonal change could have been used here as it looks rather flat.
  4. The angle of this waterfall is awkward as it gives the impression there should be land behind it.
  5. More detail here would have added further interest and created balance with the left side.
  6. Foam is too simple for this visual style and looks flat. It needs some sort of tonal change throughout to add depth.
  7. Large area with no real detail.
Overall, although there are some areas that could be improved, I feel the visual style have been replicated effectively and to a good standard.
