Reflection and Self Critique
Core components of visual style (original artwork):
Line - Bold lines, darker shade of the contained object or area.
Colour - Bright, block colours.
Shape - Simple shapes with detail added through texture for interest.
Texture - Smooth.
Space - Distinct layers added to create the illusion of depth.
- Small details of village add elements of interest to the image, similarly to original artwork.
- Rainbow adds nice variety in colour, however the texture does not fit the visual style.
- More tonal change could have been used here as it looks rather flat.
- The angle of this waterfall is awkward as it gives the impression there should be land behind it.
- More detail here would have added further interest and created balance with the left side.
- Foam is too simple for this visual style and looks flat. It needs some sort of tonal change throughout to add depth.
- Large area with no real detail.
