Above it my rough sketch, mainly used to test the location and size of the key elements.
I had initially planned the overall colour palette for this piece to be completely in the warmer tones, however in order to stay in line with the "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" element I introduced blues and greens for the background mountains and throughout.
Finally I created the line work, keeping to the "Adventure Time" style. I used the rough colour palette as a guideline for the colour selection as the line is a darker shade of the object colour in the visual style. While adding the detailing of the small trees I was aware that the textures from "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" might drown them out. However I added them regardless as a better judge of how the visual styles work together.
